Amanda made her return to track and field at the age of 46, after a post-high school hiatus of 28 years!   She fell back in love with the training, the racing, and the atmosphere of track and field.  After years of being self-coached, she met Coach Michael at USATF Outdoor Nationals in 2022.  Their official coach-athlete relationship began in 2023.  In her master’s track career, she has competed in 100, 200, 400, and 800 meters.  100 and 200 are her current areas of focus.  The relationship with Michael has been successful, with master’s outdoor national bronze medals in the 100 meters (2024 and 2025) and gold medals in the 200 meters (2024 and 2025).

Amanda loves the sense of “team” and the camaraderie of I.P.A., even if she lives in Bellingham, WA and only gets the in-person experience of I.P.A. a few times each year.   She has also enjoyed having her daughter, Kate, return to track and be part of I.P.A.

In her life outside of being a track athlete, Amanda is a National Board Certified high school math teacher and track coach at Bellingham High School.  She loves how learning, teaching, and coaching all layer together to create a dynamic and rich growthexperience for herself and those around her.
